What is the difference between an Insurance Appraisal and an Estate Value Appraisal?

We do both Insurance Replacement and Estate Value appraisals. Many people are not aware of the difference.

An Insurance Appraisal lists the costs of replacement of your insured object were you to attempt to replace them with like or same items.

In contrast, an Estate Value Appraisal reflects the amount the same item would realize at auction or private sale based on the market today. These amounts tend to be markedly different- usually being lower in terms of dollar amounts.
