Conditions of Sale
Bidding on items indicates acceptance of the following:

 

  1. A 15% buyer's premium will be added to the Hammer Price of each lot.
  2. All goods sold "as is", and all sales are final. Reports regarding condition are not included in the catalog. It is the responsibility of the bidder to examine lots. Neither Bruce A. Buxton, Inc. nor consignor is responsible for the accuracy of any printed or verbal descriptions. All weights & measurements are approximate.
  3. Bruce A. Buxton, Inc. has sole right to re-offer a lot and/or settle disputed bids.
  4. Record of sale kept by auctioneer will be taken as final in the event of dispute.
  5. Purchaser assumes complete responsibility for items at the fall of the hammer.
  6. Some lots carry reserves or minimum selling prices. This figure is set by Bruce A. Buxton, Inc. & consignor, below which a lot will not be sold. Bruce A. Buxton, Inc. will execute the reserve bids. Reserve will not exceed the low estimate. Estimates are subject to change at any time prior to the offering of each lot.
  7. Absentee bids will be executed when possible as a convenience to customers, in a competitive fashion. Bruce A. Buxton, Inc. will not be responsible for any errors or failures to accurately execute bids. Bidders are encouraged to submit absentee bids prior to the auction and discuss those bids with the auctioneer.
  8. Items may be withdrawn at any time prior to the offering of each lot.
  9. The auctioneer reserves the right to reject an opening bid or an increment that, in his opinion, is not commensurate with the value of the lot.
  10. Payment by cash or check (Bruce A. Buxton, Inc. reserves the right to request prior approval or letter from bank). Bruce A. Buxton, Inc. reserves the right to hold property until checks clear. A fee of $25.00 will be added for a returned check, an additional $50.00 will be added if the check is returned the second time. If a check fails to clear after the second deposit, the purchaser will be held responsible for any and all fees incurred until Bruce A. Buxton, Inc. has collected good funds.
  11. Payment is due at the end of the sale or upon receipt of an invoice.
  12. All items must be removed from the place of auction by 7:00 p.m. the day of the sale, Summer 2006 (Approximate times and dates to be later determined). Shipping may be arranged at the auction site with Craters & Freightors. All shipping and arrangements for such will be at the purchaser's expense.
  13. In all instances, the auctioneer's interpretation of these conditions is final and binding on all bidders.
