ANTIQUES APPRAISALS

There is great satisfaction in owning a valuable antique, whether it is a piece of furniture, a painting, or an Oriental carpet. Having your items properly appraised gives you

  • GUARANTEE OF INSURANCE PROTECTION
  • TRUE UNDERSTANDING OF THEIR VALUE
  • FREEDOM TO RELAX AND
  • ENJOY THEIR BEAUTY

We do both Insurance Replacement and Estate Value appraisals. Our policy is to document and support our appraisal values whenever possible. We are able to do this because of our extensive library and knowledge of current auction prices from all over the world.

There are many appraisal firms for you to choose from but we stand apart from most because WE ARE NOT DEALERS. We have a strict policy against buying items we have appraised or owning items we auction. This GUARANTEES a completely unbiased assessment of the items, thus avoiding any conflict of interest.

WHY YOU NEED AN APPRAISAL: Although your antiques may be insured under your home owners' policy, still you will be asked to produce proof of their values when making a claim. The written appraisal will leave no doubt as to which items were lost, damaged, or stolen.

The firm of BRUCE A. BUXTON, INC. maintains a reputation of STRICT CLIENT CONFIDENTIALITY. To further assure this CONFIDENTIALITY, your appraisal document will be prepared on a computer that is NOT CONNECTED TO THE INTERNET.

Doctor Bruce A. Buxton has been LICENSED by the State of Maine Department of Professional & Financial Regulation Board of Licencing of Auctioneers as a QUALIFIED AUCTIONEER as is REQUIRED by Title 32 MRSA Chapter 5A. Our appraisal fee is based on an hourly rate.
